Examination Deferral Request Form
A student is eligible to request to reschedule a midterm or final exam based on
the criteria below:
Midterm Exams:
Midterm exams are given over the course of one week therefore there is no way to
prevent some students from having 2 exams on the same day or having more than three
consecutive days of exams. Midterm exams are 1 hour in length as opposed to 2 or
3 hour final exams. The only exam conflict that would apply to midterm exams would
be if two midterm exams were scheduled for the same date and time.
Final Exams:
A student may request that a final exam be rescheduled under the following
circumstances:
- Students with more than one exam within a 24 hour period may request to move the
start time of the exams to allow for additional study time. Please note: Exams must
be taken on the date schedule.
- Students with four consecutive days of exams can request to move the date of one of
the exams. Please note: exams on Friday, Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday do not count
as consecutive days.
- Other: Verified religious observances; extraordinary family circumstances; doctor
documented illness etc...
To request to reschedule a midterm or final examination a student must submit the
Examination Reschedule Request Form online to the Registrar’s Office along with
supporting documentation. Requests must be made at least one (1) week prior to the
beginning of the examination period. Rescheduled examinations must be taken after
the regularly scheduled examination unless excused at the discretion of the Registrar
or Associate Dean for Academics.
