Our mission is to provide students the opportunity to participate in intra-school and inter-school competitions, along with providing advocacy training opportunities for alumni and other members of the legal community.
 
 

Student Programs


The Center for Advocacy Excellence sponsors a number of programs that are designed to provide opportunities for Charlotte School of Law Students to obtain specialized training in advocacy skills.

Our Moot Court Honor Board provides an array of opportunities for students to argue appellate cases in simulated exercises, including participation in inter-school competitions both nationally and internationally. Charlotte School of Law's Trial Advocacy Honor Board provides members with many opportunities to strengthen skills of persuasive rhetoric, effective communication, and critical analysis of legal issues, teamwork, and quick thinking by competing in nationally recognized competitions.
 
 

Community Programs


In addition, the School offers students opportunities to acquire advocacy skills through a number of additional advocacy competitions. Community Programs Charlotte School of Law offers special advocacy events and programs that are open to the larger community. One of the signature events is the Carolina's Invitational Mock Trial Competition. This competition is an annual competition sponsored by the Trial Advocacy Honor Board. All nine schools located in North and South Carolina are invited to participate. The competition provides students at Carolina and other regional schools an additional opportunity to gain valuable trial advocacy skills.
