Research Databases
All databases are available to Charlotte School of Law students, faculty, and staff. Certain databases are also available to library members.
Westlaw, LexisNexis, Versuslaw, and LoisLaw will always require a password.
If you are on-campus, click on the database name for access. For off-campus, click on the off-campus link under the database description. You will then be asked for a user name and a password. Your user name is your last name, your first name (e.g., Smith, Bob).
Your password is your library bar code number, which is located on the back of your ID badge.

ABA/BNA Lawyers' Manual on Professional Conduct Includes full text of ABA ethics opinions as well as summaries of state ethics opinions. Also includes full text of the manual, which covers in-depth topics such as confidentiality, conflicts of interest, lawyer-client relationship, fees, malpractice, and attorney discipline. HeinOnline Legal database that contains the full text of legal documents in several collections. The Law Journal Library contains PDF articles from most major law reviews and law journals. Approximately 650 law journals and reviews are included, beginning with the inception date of each publication. The Federal Register and various international treaties are also available. Supreme Court Database The Supreme Court Database is the definitive source for researchers, students, journalists, and citizens interested in the U.S. Supreme Court. The Database contains over two hundred pieces of information about each case decided by the Court between the 1953 and 2008 terms. Examples include the identity of the court whose decision the Supreme Court reviewed, the parties to the suit, the legal provisions considered in the case, and the votes of the Justices.
