To enhance your training and performance in key legal fields, nationally known law professors will offer online courses this summer, through Charlotte School of Law's Paralegal Program.

These career courses provide you with the practical information, skills, and coverage that will enhance any on-the-job training or paralegal education program.

Each course can be completed in one month and students may take a maximum of two courses at a time. Upon successful completion of any course, you will earn a Certificate of Completion from the Charlotte School of Law.

During a course, you can access the online material at your convenience, night and day, and at your own pace within a month. The format includes videos of professors teaching law students, with special live, interactive sessions available with the professors.

The Charlotte School of Law's program for law students is accredited by the ABA and its paralegal program has North Carolina State Bar designation approval.

Each course is $730. Register for the maximum of two courses and save 15%.

To register for these courses you must be 18 years or older. Please note that Charlotte School of Law classes, clinic instructions and examinations are conducted and written in English.

Business Organizations

Professor David EpsteinOnline Course: Business Organizations

The Business Organizations course will be beneficial to a paralegal in understanding the basics of business law in order to assist in drafting legal documents and understanding the risks of doing business without clearly defined agreements.  This course is highly recommended for paralegals currently working, or desiring to work for a company and assist in house counsel.

The online Business Organizations course addresses:
  • possible business structures
  • sole proprietorships
  • starting a business as a corporation
  • venture capitalists

Personal Tax Income

The Personal Income Tax course will be beneficial for a paralegal who currently focuses on, or would like to focus on tax law to gain an understanding of the regulations to assist an attorney or an accountant with all the documentation that is required by the IRS.

The online Personal Income Tax course addresses:
  • gross income
  • gains and losses derived from dealing in property
  • business and profit-seeking deductions and credits
  • deductions and other allowances that are not dependent on profit-sharing
  • characterizations of gain and loss
  • tax accounting
  • integrity of the taxable year
  • tax deferred transactions

Wills and Trust

The Wills and Trusts course will be beneficial for a paralegal who currently works, or would like to work for a law firm that specializes in wills and trusts in order to assist in creating documentation related to estate planning.

The online Wills and Trusts course addresses:
  • intestate succession
  • wills
  • estate administration
  • non-probate transfers
  • resulting trusts
  • constructive trusts
  • trust bank accounts


Refund Policy
Academic Year: June 1, 2015 – July 31, 2016

Students who officially withdraw/cancel will receive refunds as follows:
  • Withdrawals/Cancellations received two (2) weeks before the start of the course will be entitled to a full refund of the amount paid.
  • Withdrawals/Cancellations received less than two (2) weeks before the course start date will be entitled to a refund of the amount paid, less a late cancellation charge.
  • No refunds will be given for withdrawals/cancellations received on or after the course start date, or for no shows.

The late withdrawal/cancellation fee is based on the price of the course. Please see the details below:
