Allen is a 40-something small-business owner, who after years of technical and engineering studies decided to pursue a law degree. As someone who had lived all over the world, but enjoyed the last 14 years in Charlotte, he really didn’t want to leave the city that he loves and calls home. Though he’s always had a strong interest in the law, he’s unsure if he will use his J.D. practicing in a law firm, so he is leaving his long term plans open at the moment.
"I've been working for years and have two engineering degrees—after thinking about it for a while, I realized I was ready to make a personal change and begin studying law. When I heard about Charlotte School of Law I really knew everything was falling into place because I've lived in Charlotte for 14 years and was sad just thinking about leaving. The thought of not only staying, but being a part of this brand new chapter in Charlotte’s history is incredibly exciting. Now, this will be a big switch for me, law is a very different perspective and I’m wired as an engineer, but when I read about how my professors would work closely with me during my studies and would be available to talk to about my concerns, I knew that CharlotteLaw was the place for me."
