Jill Sanchez-Myers joined the faculty full-time in 2012, after one year as an adjunct professor at the Charlotte School of Law. Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Sanchez-Myers practiced in the area of social services law for ten years, as a Staff Attorney for the Gaston County Department of Social Services and a solo practitioner. She advised the county’s Children and Family Services department and represented the county in child abuse and neglect proceedings and termination of parental rights proceedings, as well as a pilot Family Drug Treatment Court. In addition, Professor Sanchez-Myers represented the county’s Adult Protective Services division in adult incompetency and guardianship proceedings and represented the Child Support Enforcement Agency. Professor Sanchez-Myers is also experienced in appellate matters and has successfully argued before the Supreme Court of North Carolina and the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Professor Sanchez-Myers received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati.
