Professor Mindy Birman Sanchez holds a J.D. from The State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from New York University. Following her law school graduation, Professor Sanchez worked as an Assistant District Attorney for approximately seven years in which she tried a variety of cases to jury verdict, particularly in the areas of narcotics, robbery, and homicide. Professor Sanchez then transitioned into the field of insurance law where she served as In-House Professional Liability Claims Counsel as well as Senior Claims Manager for two international insurance companies in New York City for approximately eight years. She joined the Charlotte School of Law in August 2010 and instructs in the areas of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.

Professor Sanchez is licensed to practice law in New York, Connecticut, and North Carolina.
